These loans are offered by certain banks and backed by Kāinga Ora, which helps people who don’t meet normal bank deposit rules.
Where do you want to live in Aotearoa?
You may qualify if you:
- Live in NZ and are a citizen or resident
- Are a first‑home buyer
- Earn under:
- $95,000 (single, no kids)
- $150,000 (single with kids)
- $150,000 combined (couples or joint buyers)
- Have at least a 5% deposit
- Will live in the home
- Don’t own any other property
- Are buying a home under 1 hectare
